100% Nerello Mascalese from one of the most interesting regions on the planet. Infact, lot's of Mount Etna looks other worldly and that volcanic soil certainly transmits something ethereal to this wine.
2016 was a very good vintage and these guys are in the top rung of Sicillian producers. This wine offers such good value when comparing top Burgundy, Bordeaux, Chianti producers.
Oranges and honey, mint, white peach. Gentle style and flavour with a subtle creaminess, bright acidity cutting through almond smoothness, a fine mineral/ash thing, and chalky texture, the finish long and cool with fine powdery grip. Beautiful wine.
